Mother of God Primary School - make art

At Mother of God Primary School, two workshops were run by Debbie with 3/4 and 5/6 students to make hanging collages. The collages were made from mixed media which were fused between two sheets of recycled plastic.
The materials used, included, material and cardboard letters, matchsticks, wool, buttons and plenty of sticky tape.
The artwork is about identity and what makes you different or the same to other people. Students made words that spoke about their hobbies and things that they like to do.

Paper is on top and below to prevent the plastic from sticking to anything.

The artworks were joined to make banners and a wire hanger attached.
sometimes the students explored new ways of using materials.

Exquisite Me is an arts project that explores the collective experiences, stories and representations of identities of young people in Sunshine and Brimbank. These experiences, stories and representations will be explored during various art and writing workshops run by  community artist Debbie Qadri. The artwork and writing will be displayed as a large collaborative work, in a number of venues in Sunshine, including Gallery Sunshine Everywhere. Some of the artwork and writing will be  made into an artist’s book for the Sunshine Library. Workshops will be held at schools, community groups and at Council facilities such as the Sunshine Library .
